COMMERCIAL BLEACH is a light yellow liquid with a strong chlorine odour. pH 12.0 to 12.5 S.G. 1.12.
COMMERCIAL BLEACH is subject to gradual degradation when exposed to the atmosphere i.e. the higher the chlorine content the greater the loss. This process is greatly accelerated with heat.
As with other chlorine bleaches COMMERCIAL BLEACH should not be used on polyester or blend fabrics. Use Jasol BLEACH 44 for this purpose.
RECOMMENDED USES
Where possible dilute COMMERCIAL BLEACH to a 1 percent solution of available chlorine before adding to the washwheel i.e. dilute at the rate of 1 to 11 with water.
It is recommended that bleaching take place at 60 to 65C to avoid linen damage.
For normal bleaching use at the rate of 20ml 1 percent solution per 1kg load of dry weight washing.
For cold soaking use at the rate of 25ml 1 percent solution per 1 litre of water.

SAFETY INFORMATION
COMMERCIAL BLEACH is a corrosive substance containing an oxidising chlorine compound. Appropriate care must be taken when handling COMMERCIAL BLEACH. Ensure that no other metal than high grade stainless steel comes in contact with the product as this will cause decomposition of the product and severe corrosion of the metal. Do not mix with acids or other chemicals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin and avoid breathing vapour. The following First Aid procedures apply.
If poisoning occurs contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
If in eyes hold eyes open and flood with water for at least 15 minutes and see a Doctor.
If swallowed do NOT induce vomiting give water to drink and seek medical attention.
If skin contact occurs remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
